A Glee Song for all the Gleeks

Follow TroutyMouthBlog on Twitter

If you all haven't seen it, you're missing out. A good friend of TroutyMouth.com's - Cina Pontes - created about the best.darn.Glee.song we have ever heard! Seriously.

This song is not only amazeballs, but she wrote it and she's playing the ukulele in it! Plus, the lyrics are totally fitting for any Gleek! She gets everything a true Gleek feels about the show, right down in one 4 minute video!

So without further ado: A Glee(k) Song, by Cina Pontes.

Glee Panel at Comic Con - Gleecap

Follow TroutyMouthBlog on Twitter

First things first... Just because we didn't make it to Comic Con this year, doesn't mean we won't give you a Gleecap! Of course we will! I was trollin' the UStreams and recaps all day, to try and make sure I got you guys all the juice from the Glee Panel at Comic Con today.

So... Without further ado...

From the Panel

Included on the panel are: Darren Criss, Harry Shum Jr., Dot Marie Jones, Jenna Ushkowitz, as well as movie director Kevin Tanchearoen, choreographer Zack Woodlee, executive producer Dante di Loreto, co-creator Ian Brennan and co-creator Brad Falchuk.
  • On Graduating: Cory, Lea, and Chris are all graduating. However, Falchuk said that "just because they are graduating, doesn't mean they are leaving the show." He even went as far as to say, "I can guarantee here that they are not done with the show after this season." I find this one particularly interesting... According to the Hollywood Reporter article, Murphy said that they won't come back at all... interesting. Someone is telling lies... LIES I TELL YOU!
  • Good news for Tina fans... Jenna is a Junior! Wahoo!!!! That was the best news of the whole hour-long panel!
  • Season sequence: The main focus of the first 9 episodes will be on character development, leading up to Sectionals. If there is a "tribute" episode, it will happen in the second half of the season. Lovin' this set up. I'm really interested in how relationships and personal developments will develop. It should make for a great start of the season. As far as the tribute is concerned? I have a few suggestions RIB - MJ, Elton, or Madonna#2. Just a couple of thoughts...
  • On Chord: They did not make him a regular, but invited him to come back as a recurring guest star. Chord declined. So he will not be returning in Season 3. In an attempt to keep this as unbiased as possible, I'm simply just going to say... I'm disappointed. I'll leave it at that.
  • What about Samcedes? The writers confirmed that Mercedes WILL get a boyfriend next season that she meets over the summer! Can I just say... It's about damn time!
  • On Mike Chang: Tike is going to be just fine this season. Oh, and we'll get to meet Mr. and Mrs. Chang. Big fan of Tina Cohen Chang Chang... and I'm super stoked that they're keeping them together. And pretty sweet that we'll get to meet the parents of Mr. Hotdancer, Mike Chang. Not whose parents I'd assume they'd introduce... but I'm ok with it.
  • On Klaine: Falchuk says "they're solid". He also adds, "They have problems - you have two stars dating each other, there’s going to be some competition there." I could see where they may butt heads... but I have to say that I'm super happy that Kurt's going to have (hopefully) a solid season of happiness. Yay, Klaine!
Other Notables
  • Beiste will return.
  • Brennan is trying to make 'Santittany' happen.
  • Brennan on Heather and Naya, "We had two incredible talents on our hands that we didn’t realize."
  • Ushkowitz ships Brittana.
  • Criss may be able to go to Broadway.
  • New character won't be a nemesis to Sue?Also confused by this based on the above Hollywood Reporter article.
  • Fun fact: Story comes first. Then song choice comes to enhance the storyline.I just want to applaud this trio (RIB) for exploring the unchartered world of amazing song choice on a TV show. Brava. Brava.
  • Revealing the Glee Clubbers families is a debatable issue among the writers. They're toying with the idea, but they don't know when and if they'll do it.
  • A spinoff is a possibility, and the writers are exploring it. However, Falchuk says "We're leaning against a spinoff right now. I think we’re going to pass."
  • Fun Fact: Cast's dream Broadway roles -- Ushkowitz: "I wanna be Kim in Miss Saigon." Shum Jr.: "Singing in the Rain." Criss: "The MC, Cabaret." DMJ: "Ursula."
  • Criss would like to sing Aladdin on the show.
  • Sue runs for Congress. Ken dies of a heart attack.
  • The writers have explored the idea of writing a love interest for Beiste.
  • When it comes to the inspiration behind Brittany's one-liners, Brennan said, "You wander through your life and think, 'What would Britney think if she were here?'"
  • Finally, Di Loreto makes Season 3 claims: "The stories that are coming out are going to knock your socks off. It’s going to be the most extraordinary season."
And that's the wrap on Glee at Comic Con 2011! Hope you found it to be interesting! I know I did. Hopefully we will be there next year :)

Harry Shum Video Project

Follow TroutyMouthBlog on Twitter

Hey guys,

So Abby (http://jennausharmy.tumblr.com/ & @JennaUshArmy) and Jenna (http://harryshumarmy.tumblr.com/ & @HarryShumArmy) and Whitney and I (http://troutymouthblog.tumblr.com/ & @troutymouthblog) are creating a collaborating on a huge video for Harry Shum Jr.

Basically, all of you aweSHUM Harry fans need to send in a video of yourself doing your best dance move... the Worm, the Charlie Brown, the Shopping Cart, and the Egyptian are all acceptable dance moves.

The best part about this project is that you don't have to be a great dancer or know how to dance... Be creative and have fun with it! In fact... the sillier the dance, the better! Remember, Harry will hopefully be seeing this video, so having fun is the biggest part in making it successful.

Ten seconds or so is perfect! Don't try to go much more than that! But if you do, we'll work it in!

EMAIL US YOUR VIDEO AND TWITTER NAME TO: gleehabers@gmail.com

Once we get enough videos, we'll put it together, and create a great video for Harry to see!

Comments or questions? Leave a comment below, or contact anyone of us via Twitter or Tumblr!

Thanks guys, Can't wait to see it :)

Glee's Emmy Nominations

Follow TroutyMouthBlog on Twitter

My name is Lacey but you can call me just about anything. My mom calls me Tater, my aunt calls me Little Heifer, my late grandmother called me 4'10 and my seven year old nephew calls me My Favorite Aunt.

Bonnie and Whitney were so kind to let me to be a guest blogger today because they have lives and I have a work schedule that allows me to be flexible. Seriously, I suggested jokingly that I could do this and they took me seriously. My mother would say that's how she got pregnant with me but I digress.

Before I rant about who wasn't nominated (and believe me I will rant), let's celebrate Glee's nominations.

1) Outstanding Sound Mixing For A Comedy or Drama Series (One Hour) for The Substitute but I'll wait so you can Google exactly what sound mixing is and maybe you can explain it to me on Twitter.

2) Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup For A Series, Miniseries, Movie Or A Special for The Sue Sylvester Shuffle.

3) Outstanding Makeup For A single-Camera Series (Non-Prosthetic) for The Rocky Horror Glee Show. I think we all agree that was an AWESOME episode.

4) Outstanding Hairstyling For A Single-Camera Series for The Sue Sylvester Shuffle. Did you see Dianna Agron's hair in the half-time show? Epic!

5) Outstanding Costumes For A Series for New York. I don't understand why THIS episode was nominated instead of The Rocky Horror Glee show or The Sue Sylvester Shuffle. Can anyone explain this to me? You can find me on Twitter (just ask Bonnie and Whitney for the secret password)! Anyway, Lou Eyrich is a mad genius. I want her to dress me! I'm not a tiny girl so I'm totally in love with Mercedes and Lauren's clothes! I just wish I had her budget!

6) Outstanding Casting for A Comedy Series. Robert Ulrich is also a mad genius. How much do we all love this cast? I know that they are only looking at season two cast but let's just consider the cast for a second, my personal favorite characters are Tina, Coach Beiste, Quinn (Don't judge!), Sam, Santana and Brittany, and Burt Hummel. Do you like how I listed Santana and Brittany together? In my eyes, they are one character in two bodies and that character is called Brittana.

7) Outstanding Comedy Series. I know many people haven't been thrilled with the previous season and I am included in that but let's look at what we have had. Yes, the continuity isn't always the best but there have been some moments that I have found noteworthy.

a) Pretty much anything Santana says is noteworthy; I mean she wrote TROUTY MOUTH for goodness sakes!

b) Who doesn't want a dad like Burt Hummel? The man had a talk with his gay son about sex. How many fathers to their straight sons about sex? A single mom raised me so I never had a dad but if I did, I would want him to be like Burt.

c) Quinn Fabray. I adore Quinn. I understand Quinn and in some ways, I think I am Quinn. I know a lot of you didn't like the "Lucy" plot line but I did. I think it makes perfect sense. If you'd like me to go more in depth about that you can find me on Twitter or maybe Bonnie and Whitney will let me share my feelings through their wonderful blog!

d) Funeral - The episode was not the best Glee episode but Jean's funeral was the most beautiful thing in the world to me. It came two months and one day after I lost my beloved grandmother (she died the morning after Original Song aired in the US).

e) New York - Of course New Directions didn't place at Nationals. Last year they didn't win Regionals. Next season, I think they will place. Did anyone else notice Tyler Shields in that episode or was that just me? The person sitting next to me looked like Tyler Shields (the photographer) and I'm sure that was him since he's friends with a lot of the cast. He's shot Dianna, Jayma, Harry, and Jenna. He may have shot others that I am forgetting now. If you are familiar with Tyler's work and you should be, you will realize that the pun is intended.

8) Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series. Chris Colfer. Definitely, a good choice. Kurt is one of the best characters on television in my opinion. You either love him or hate him. Let's face it, he's the gay male Rachel Berry.

9) Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series. Jane Lynch. I would have loved to have seen more Jane this season. I missed her lot this season. I would have rather had more Sue than all those episodes of Holly Holliday.

10) Guest Actress In A Comedy Series. Kristin Chenoweth, Dot-Marie Jones, Gwyneth Paltrow.

a) Kristin Chenoweth. I adore Kristin Chenoweth but I don't know why she had to come back.

b) Gwyneth Paltrow. Gwyneth was fine for one episode but felt like she took away from the contract and recurring cast. Did Jenna Ushkowitz even get to finish a full solo this season? Gwyneth did.

c) Dot-Marie Jones. How I love Dot-Marie Jones! I missed Coach Beiste for the last few episodes this season. I hope she returns in Season 3 because she has so much to offer. I think Will should ditch Emma and go for Coach Beiste. I think they are called Willabeiste.
Who wasn't included that I think should have been?

1) Naya Rivera! Absolutely. I have a strong feeling that she will be nominated next year.

2) Lauren Potter (Becky Jackson) deserves a Supporting Nomination. I think Finn should dump Rach and go for Lauren because she calls him "Finny Bear.” How great would that be?

3) Jayma Mays, where was her nomination? She married a HOT dentist and remained a virgin!

4) Amber Riley also deserves a nomination but I hope with the "big storyline" for Mercedes next year that she will get one next year.

5) Chord Overstreet deserves all the rewards! I think that the network was stupid in not making him a contract character in the next season but if Chord does return (and Ryan Murphy wants him to), I hope that he gets a nomination next year.

6) Iqbal Theba (Principal Figgins) is hilarious as Principal Figgins (remember "Tik and also Tok by rapper Key-Dollar Sign-Ha?”) Epic.

What did you like about this year's Emmy nominations? Who do you think got a nomination that they didn't deserve? Who deserved a nomination that they didn't get?

I hope you will join me in watching the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards Live on September 18, 2011 at 8pm EDT/5pm PDT on Fox!

I just want to take a little time to thank Lacey for writing this up for us. Not only was it a brilliant post that I completely agree with, but she was kind enough to take some time out of her day to write up the explanation of the Emmy noms. So, on behalf of myself and Whitney, THANK YOU LACEY!

Chord Overstreet Rocks the Celebrity Softball Game

Follow TroutyMouthBlog on Twitter

Welp, just another reason for TroutyMouth.com to love the "half-inspiration" behind our blog. (for the record, we don't think you really have a trouty mouth, Chord!) Chord Overstreet played in this year's Taco Bell All-Star Legends and Celebrity Softball Game. Just a couple of reasons to love him:

1) Not only did he win...
2) Not only did he play for the National League (a league I'm partial to being a Cardinals Fan)...
3) Not only did he play with the greatest player of all time, and 2002 Hall of Famer, Mr. Ozzie Smith (again, I'm partial being a Cardinals fan, and because Oz was the first baseball player I was ever a fan of)....
4) But he also made this incredible catch:

Oh wait, you haven't even heard the best part: The catch was against the great 1999 Hall of Famer - Rickey Henderson. You're too great Chord Overstreet!

Way to rock it, and oh... thanks for posting this video. I think I'm in love with you now. Okay.

Congrats on a game well played. Thanks for being great!

Send us to Comic Con

Follow TroutyMouthBlog on Twitter

Bottom line: We want to go to Comic Con. Why? Yes... it would be awesome... but we want to get the inside scoop for YOU guys.

So, as best we can, we're going to make efforts to go. And you know how TroutyMouth.com works. If we set our minds to something, we don't rest until it happens. Literally. We want to go to Vegas to see them? We do. We want to give them gifts at the Chicago concert? We do. We want to up and leave for New York the day before the concert to see their last show in the US with no show tickets but hope to get in there anyway? We do (and with phenomenal seats I might add). And trust us... there was NO rest in NY!

So this is a cry for help, yes. For any of our followers and readers who may know any tips or can help us in anyway, we'd GREATLY appreciate it. But if you can't, just spread the word and stay posted... hopefully in a few weeks, we'll have a phenomenal story about Comic Con, and some fantastic news to write about!

... And who knows? Maybe this will be my opportunity to have a beer or a bottle of wine with RIB! :)

-Bonnie

P.S. Thanks to everyone for all the ongoing support. TroutyMouth.com has been blowin' up lately, all thanks to you guys :)

You're welcome to send our passes to: gleehabers@gmail.com :)

Dear Glee...Love Whitney

Follow TroutyMouthBlog on Twitter

Dear Glee,

You got one massive letter from a huge fan (read the masterpiece that is Bonnie's letter here) but guess what..here's another!

Glee. Glee…glee…glee. I have gone through many phases when it comes to things that I love such as the British television show "Hollyoaks," a large obsession with Lady Gaga (still active) and now..Glee. I often catch crap about how I am too involved with Glee and blogging and what not..but I can honestly say that it makes me happy. It's fun and let's me talk about something that I love so much and a show that pretty much anyone can relate to. Not only that but it brings out even more creativity in me..and as an artist (yea I said it)..I need more creative outlets. It's also led me to make amazing friends, start this OUTSTANDING blog, party on Twitter and do things I wouldn't normally do (New York adventures anyone?). Okay..well in this letter I'm hoping to keep it real and be hilarious, let's do this:

Writers: Ryan, Ian, Brad - the things that come from your minds, I can't really even fathom it. Thank you so much for creating storylines that pretty much everyone everywhere can relate to. Thank you for taking chances with those storylines and characters and not being afraid to stir the pot and shock people or make people think. I can't wait to see what you guys bring to the table in season three - I'm pretty sure it could be known as mind blowing.

Crew: Okay, so I knew before that there was a crew working their asses off when it came to writing, directing, producing, choreography, video editing, sound editing and a bazillion other jobs I'm sure but I had a little insight into that when I watched the first episode of "The Glee Project". Watching Zach Woodlee try to help those contestants dance and like being on such a tight deadline - I was like holy sweet hell..1) that has got to be stressful but it more than pays off in the end 2) these are some of the hardest working people ever I'm almost positive. You guys help bring this masterpiece of a show together in a big way and you are amazeballs and I can definitely say that I admire you all for it.

Telly Kousakis - I reaaaally have to thank you for putting up with us here at Trouty Mouth because we love to tw'assault (that's twitter assault) you. But trust me - it is out of pure love. And I know that you loved your Snickerpuller shirt..and I'm still waiting for it on Parade of Fashions. Oh and please watch this, I mean we made it specifically for you: The Telly Seduction.

Cast: Acting, dancing, filming, studio sessions, touring, panels - and I'm sure I could go on for ages - you all do all of these things practically year round just to bring the best you can to your fans. That is some hardcore dedication and love for your job and fans and it is appreciated. I can safely say that I love everyone that I'm about to mention below and that they all have something unique to give us that it's hard to believe that they were able to find so many diverse, talented people and get them all on one show together.

Dianna: I think I need to start off by saying that I loved when you cut your hair because I think it suits you quite well. When the mashup of "I Feel Pretty/Unpretty" was first leaked onto the internet, I had to seek it out IMMEDIATELY because I love "Unpretty" and when I found it, no lie, listened to it the rest of my work day which probably would've been like 3-4 hours. I love a majority of the songs that you all do but that mashup is magic. Your character has been so back and forth with being like Queen Bitch and then the exact opposite of that so I'm very excited to see what happens with her and you in the third season!

Cory: I have gone through many different feelings when it comes to you playing Finn because I loved you and then I didn't like you for like two episodes when you were not nice to Rachel but now I love you again. And I especially love you now, Cory, because of two things: your drumming and Jessie's Girl live. I didn't think it would be one of my favorites of the show but hearing it so loud + the energy from the crowd happened to make it one of my favorite performances.

Mark: You are such a stud. You can sing so many different types of songs so well and make all the ladies swoon. Oh and the guitar playing? Mmhmm. While I love the show for many reasons, you are considered the badass cool dude that possibly could bring in some viewers that may not have given the show a chance because they thought it might be lame. So thanks for being a smoking' hot badass. Oh, and the love that you have and show for your grandma..adorable. Keep that up for sure.

Chord: Chord Overstreet…you are Gleebalicious (I tried). I DO have the Bieber and Gleeber fever thanks to you. I have really grown to love you over this season…especially when you do impressions and soak Na'vi. Comedy, acting, singing, instruments - what's that? Multi-talented. And finally, thank you so much for being the inspiration for the original song "Trouty Mouth". This blog would be something totally different without you! I can't wait to see what happens with you in the future Chord! :)

Jenna: True Colors. One of my favorite songs ever and one of my favorite Glee performances out of both seasons. I got to somewhat meet you (Amber and Telly) this year in Chicago when we passed on some shirts to you (Happy Girl Drunk? Yea that was us) and you really were all amazing and nice for the few seconds we got to interact. Keep up the great work and I hope to see more from you in season 3!

Amber: Amber…you pretty much leave me breathless when you hit those insane high notes during songs. I thought it was impressive on the recordings from the show but then I heard it live and I'm so surprised I didn't pass out from it! And recently all the love I've been seeing you spread on Twitter is making me love you even more. Thanks for portraying such a strong character as Mercedes and for being just as great real time as well!

Darren: When I hear the Warblers version of "Teenage Dream", it still gives me goosebumps just like when you guys first sang it on the show. All the newer additions to the show this year were really great, including yours. So charismatic, energetic and a great singer! I've also been hearing about all of this singing you've been doing with Naya…maybe try to work some of that into next season. Thanks. Oh, also fell in love with you after watching this: (The Little Mermaid is my favorite Disney movie, just saying').

Warblers: A group of sexy guys singing together in delicious, classy matching uniforms? Oh that's terrible - not. Getting to see all of you guys over the past season and in concert has been really great. I'm not sure what will happen with you guys for this next season but either way I can't wait! Keep on being amazing! This little shootout goes specifically to Riker and Curt - we took a photo with the both of you in Chicago so once we get that off of the camera be expecting that tweet my friends..and then you can propose to me if you want..either one of you is fine.

Chris: Your high notes pretty much bring tears to my eyes. I'm not joking. I could listen to you sing that one line in "Just Like A Prayer" where you hit some crazy note and "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" for hours I'm fairly certain. I would also like to thank you for being so brave while playing the role of Kurt. There are many people all over that look up to you, can relate to Kurt and probably turn to the show for some comfort or even guidance when dealing with something like being a gay teen and I think it's really great what you and all the other cast members are doing with their characters.

Harry: Situ-asian. Mmmhmm…so I drove to St. Louis on a whim one day to meet you when I caught wind that you were there and that didn't happen which was upsetting. But then..Chicago happened and I got to get up in your grill and get an autograph which was amazeballs. In the way that many of the voices on this show blow my mind….you blow my mind equally with your dance moves. And yours abs. And the work that you have done with LXD and having them at your live shows, I can't even deal. Telling a story through dancing is a true gift, way to go!

Lea: I didn't start watching Glee until late in the first season and you were the one that roped me in. I saw a commercial of you singing and I was like I need to watch this show NOW. I did and now it's all I think about. You've got some crazy talent and a powerhouse of a voice that pretty much will knock someone down. I still get goosebumps when I hear you chime in during "Don't Stop Believin'". As I said with Chris and Amber..some of those notes you guys hit are UNREAL. Thanks for being a fantastic Rachel Berry and I only hope in real life that your parties are like that of the Rachel Berry House Party Trainwreck Extravaganza.

Heather: Not only can you bust out dance moves that will cause sex riots and that are flawless but you can sing and act..and are a comedic genius. I thought that you were hilarious when delivering all of your one liners in seasons 1 & 2 and then I find out that you sometimes ad-lib AND that you make hilarious videos with your friends? You've definitely been a huge motivator to me because while I can't dance..I at least try and laugh hysterically at myself now. Recently you have motivated me to start using my humors to make funny videos. I hope that they turn out amazing and hilarious like yours do. I'll let you know. Thanks for being one of my main inspirations.

Kevin: Swag. I mean that is really all I need to describe you sir. Your voice can sing anything as you have clearly showed us. And I mean..you can even do MJ right..so that is something to be very proud of! And those dance moves that you have to not use due to Artie's wheelchair..it's a damn shame because those moves are outstanding. I even get excited when you are just moving your upper body in your chair. Also - Safety Dance. I hope that there is a chance within the show to get you out of that chair again because daaaamn! I also got to meet you for a brief moment in Chicago..however I was too starstruck to talk..but at least I got your autograph and some delicious photos. Next time..maybe I'll be able to say hi. :)

Naya: And finally I have arrived at Naya. There's probably so much I could say about you but I'll try to keep it down since this letter is huge. You are pretty much the full package - amazing voice, great acting skills because you have made me laugh and cry all in one episode, probably even in one scene if I had to guess and an extremely nice person. I never got to meet you at the concerts that I went to..thought I was so close in Chicago but couldn't get into the meet and greet but you (and Cory who was also there) just seemed so nice and really appreciative of your fans which is just really refreshing. Similar to what I told Chris earlier, thank you for taking on the role of Santana and being willing and ready to show her character's growth and acceptance with being "Lebanese". It means so much to people that they can be able to tune into this show once a week and forget about what's going on and be able to laugh or be able to relate to some of the characters and feel like they are not alone. Even if it's just for that short time. I'm very excited to see what happens with Santana in season 3 and to see what happens with you and your upcoming album that I can't stop thinking about! And..once again, I will attempt to get you to see this video that I made for you, it's called the Santana Hand Clap. :D

Wow..so I think I have gone on long enough but I will say one last time that I am so grateful for this show and the fact that everyone, including myself, can relate to at least one person or multiple people and situations on this show that can make them feel better, even if for a short time. I can definitely say that Glee and all of you have had an impact on my life and based on all the fun new things I'm doing, I'm gonna say it's a good one. Thank you.

Love,
Whitney
