Overheard in the Fandom: Why Trouty Mouth Blog Sucks

Follow TroutyMouthBlog on Twitter

Part of the fun in operating a Glee blog is being part of a tremendously passionate, fun fandom. Unfortunately, as with any fandom, you can't please everyone. That's just the way it is. We're totally fine with it, and even tend to poke fun at ourselves when we have the opportunity.

Recently, we came across some information - some things that people have said about us in the past, and who knows, maybe they still think this way about us now. But we've decided to make this an opportunity to talk about the top 5 reasons TMB sucks:

  1. We like Glee.
  2. We are tweens.
  3. We say that people overreact.
  4. We don't understand important social issues.
  5. We are "up the asses" of certain cast/crew members.

Top 5 reasons we agree with you:
  1. No we don't. We just run this blog for the perks.
  2. I wish. Being a tween... That was the life.
  3. What I want to say would be an overreaction here.
  4. Well, if it didn't happen to us, we know nothing about it.
  5. You know? Who cares if one of my favorite places to spend time is up someone's ass. It's just something I prefer. Not everyone wants to shove their head up people's asses but that's their choice. I couldn't be more happy with shoving my whole head into someone's ass.

But in all seriousness, here are some things that we do want to get across about our blog and our Twitter.
  • It's a television show. While it may not go exactly how we want it every single time, we're unfortunately not writing it. So we can't make that call. We just try not to get too worked up over things -- we try to maintain a cool head as much as possible.
  • We're really in our mid-twenties.
  • We don't think people overreact. We think people use their passion in negative ways. We'd just like to see people redirect that energy into something more positive.
  • Both of us have been through a lot. Maybe our feelings or what we've been through isn't the same as what someone else went through, but it doesn't mean we don't understand. Maybe we just have a slightly different understanding of it based on our experiences. Not everyone has the same experience.
  • Our heads are really just stuck on our necks. But if being nice to people is putting our head's in their ass, then so be it. I think we're okay with it, we're not going to turn to hateful comments and spiteful remarks. That's just not how we do things, no matter how frustrated we get with certain elements on the show.

As always...
